The SIMCO sales team was thrilled to have the chance to talk all things drilling at the WorldWide DownHome DrillFest held in Branson, Missouri last month. We were honored to be able to, once again, set up one of our own rigs, the SIMCO 2800 PTO driven rig as one of the stars of the show.

This year’s event was held in the Chateau on the Lake Resort convention center with exhibits set up from various part of the country. Some of the most respected experts in the industry taught CEUs to rapt attendees, while the live Contractors’ Benefit Auction was a tremendous success, providing two families with funds to aid them in their time of need. There was karaoke to provide laughter to singers and audience alike, and a standing ovation for the guest speaker, Dr. Jerry C. Davis, President of the College of the Ozarks (More on that below).
Ryan Gross, and Dave Wagner, of the SIMCO Sales Team, got to talk shop throughout the conference, getting a feel for the buzz in the industry.
“We haven’t talked to anyone who isn’t busy,” said Gross. “Supply shortages and shipping issues have been challenging, but everyone is playing catch up to complete jobs they weren’t able to do last year.”

“…This year’s event found drilling equipment inside the beautiful convention center surrounded by a wide variety of exhibits from various parts of the country. Pictured {above} is the SIMCO® 2800 which was one of the first rigs on scene being set up for display.
As you can see by these snapshots {above} of the loading in, CEU’s being taught by some of the most respected people in the industry, live Contractors’ Benefit Auction (which proved to be worth the effort put forth by so many, provided two families with funds to aid in their time of need.), as well as the Karaoke which gave the singers and audience alike time to laugh and enjoy themselves. The Guest Speaker, Dr. Jerry C. Davis, President of the College of the Ozarks received a standing ovation for his presentation of the school’s values of the United States of America. And last but never the least, the WWDR Team always makes sure the ladies have a special trip of their own. Why? Because “If MaMa ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy”.
To be able to bring laughter during these past two trying years, to our industry associates, is well worth all the effort put into the event in the eyes of the WWDR Team. The motto for WorldWide Drilling Resource® is Solid Gold Service ~ with a Smile™ and they mean it. The red carpet is truly laid out for those in attendance with no request going unanswered.
The numbers for this event during this second year anniversary, in comparison with some events 75 to 100 years, is outstanding. They call it, facing whatever comes with a positive attitude. Were they what they would have liked? Certainly not. But with the way the world is these days; persistence, hard work, and smiles are the positives that will make this event one to be held in high esteem.
Some ask, “Will there be a third?” The answer from Ronnie, on behalf of the WWDR Team, is a resounding “YES!” As a matter of fact, the Third Annual WorldWide DownHome DrillFest™ has already been set in motion. Mark your calendars for October 19-21, 2022, and make plans to attend at the Chateau on the Lake Resort, high atop the mountain overlooking the lake in Branson, Missouri.
