SIMCO Drilling Equipment provides top-of-the-line drill rigs to businesses across the country and around the world. Let us introduce you to Rich Clarke, a 30-year veteran of the SIMCO Drilling Rigs & Equipment Crew!
Rich Clarke holds a BSBA degree from Drake University and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Prior to joining SIMCO in 1985, he worked in sales related positions for several hydraulic component manufacturers as well as taught at the college level for several years. Over the past three decades, he has become the face of SIMCO at the large number of state and industry related trade shows and technical conferences the company attends to keep in contact with the wide customer base. He has given numerous talks and presentations before industry groups such as the SEDC (Shallow Exploration Drillers Clinic) and the NGWA (National Ground Water Association) . He has also served on the various boards of the NGWA, rising to the position of Vice President- Manufacturer’s Division.
Given the relative long life of a drill rig, his many years with SIMCO provides the customers with continuity of product knowledge and personal relationships not readily found in today’s business world. Knowing your products and their applications, your customers and your competition are still guidelines for the day’s activities.
In addition to working with all of the SIMCO products being sold to all markets, he has had significant involvement in the development of several specialty products. These are the 2400 DRILLTEAM rig for pinpointing underground pipeline leaks in the utility market and the 255PTC for use in pavement test core drilling by state and federal government entities. Along with these government related customers, he also handles all foreign and international sales.
Married for over 44 years, he has one daughter and two grand children. When not working, he enjoys golfing, playing church league softball, attending auctions and collecting antiques, singing in the choir, playing with his dogs (rescued Scotties) and being a member of the Iowa British Car Club.
