The article, Drill Rig Servicing & Maintenance, which gives “dos and don’ts” on drill rig maintenance, reached out to several experts in the industry for their insight. Darren Swolley, SIMCO’s sales manager, was asked about the “Hydraulic Heart” of the SIMCO drill rig and gave tips on maintaining and cleaning a rig’s hydraulic pump and motor to avoid unnecessary downtime.
“Using the wrong hydraulic oil filters on your drill rig is always a bad idea,” Swolley is quoted as saying. “If too much is filtered, it will restrict the flow and starve your rig’s hydraulic pumps.”
