SIMCO Drilling Equipment has a long-standing tradition of employee dedication. Like with many staffers who have been with the company for a long time, SIMCO considers all who work here part of an extended family. In November, one of the SIMCO family, Gary Arnold, will be hanging up his rig-building gear after almost three decades on the job.
Gary Arnold started with SIMCO Drilling Equipment in 1994. With an extensive background in engine repair, he fit in perfectly working on SIMCO drill rigs. Over his tenure, Gary worked on or built every model of drill on the SIMCO line.
While he helped build our model 2800 water well and geotechnical drills as well as our model 7000, his primary focus was building the smaller rigs. Hundreds of EP200 and 2400 model rigs rolled out of the SIMCO plant with Gary’s touch. His knowledge and expertise in building our rigs is a big reason why the EP200 and 2400 models have such a great reputation as tough and reliable drill rigs.
He also took the time to pass on his assembly skills and knowledge to the next generation of talented workers now on the assembly floor.
A friend, a coworker, and a mentor, we’re thankful for his commitment and the legacy he helped build with our team. He will be greatly missed.
